Running up hills slows you down at first, but makes you faster over time. You just have to get through the dip where your heart, lungs, and muscles get stronger.
Similarly, writing down your short term and long terms goals and thinking through how you can achieve those goals slows you down at first but then leads you to success faster.
We used the One-Page Strategic Plan (must register to see form / training videos) to come up with a plan for growing PRLeap. My friend David Niu turned me onto it and while it took time, our team executed much faster as we were incredibly focused.
